So, I try again to get cocoa or cacao and the lady wasn't getting it, and my wifi didn't work so she got someone else and he set his phone for English and I typed in cocoa for baking and they then understood but they don't carry it. I must have gotten it at the other grocery store I went to one day so I will try there tomorrow.
I decide to check my list and mark off what I have gotten. I have one thing on it that I don't know what it is - lechuga - so I go up to one of the ladies and ask her. She takes me back to produce and I figured I got everything I wanted there so I said "do I already have that?" Sure enough it was the lettuce. We laughed and I thanked her. Maybe I am not ready for an all Spanish list on everything.
I go to the front to check out and a nice man keeps trying to get me to go over to the line by the wine but I have tried that before and finally gave up so I stayed where I was. And gave up and moved to the next line. There was a young couple and they must have had even more time than me - and I'm retired. They had two orders in their cart or each person was paying for different things and they were eating snacks so nothing was happening very fast. One of the employees opened the lane next to me and caught my eye and the next thing you know my cart and I were heading out.
As I go through the store to the back, the man who seems to oversee the back is in the break room and he greets me and comes to help me with my cart, all the way to my front door. All in all a good trip to the Super Mercado. I did tell the meat dept guys that there would be cookies tomorrow so I will have to figure out what to make. I now have flour and eggs and butter and sugar. Don't all good things start with that?
