I went again this morning at 10:00am and even though I don't understand much, I enjoy it. Today was a clapping Mass. The songs may have holy, sacred words but the music is definitely dance hall. So lively. It was different musicians this week. Both male. A singer and a singer at a keyboard. We clapped along to several of the songs. I also really like the homily. This week the kids came up to the priest and answered questions. From what I could figure out they were giving him the names of saints. Course I could be making that up. The priest always sings a song during the homily and sometimes he get so excited his arms are whirling around. Last week during the sign of peace I could hardly get anyone to shake my hand. This week I shook hands with 8 people so it is definitely improving. A lot of people kiss each other on the cheek but a lot also shake hands. The Lord's Prayer I just follow along in English. And I figured out last Sunday must have been special because the first half standing wasn't near as long this week so my leg held out and I was in the right position most of the time. Only had to sit a little when I should have been standing. I will say I am glad they only kneel at the consecration because those wooden kneelers are really hard.
There were no bikers out front this week. I will spend the afternoon working on the bamboo so I can clean up the mess of leaves. I strip the branches and then soak them until I can bend them into a circle and tie them. I have 4 now that I made last night. I will do more adjusting as I work on them. I want to do these with sinew but I may have to order that and feathers and have it sent to Heathers. I can get it when I go back next month.
Sunday morning attire.
