We have tortillas
I just finished my tortilla party. They were corn tortillas and a little thicker than I usually see. Wrapped in banana leaf to keep them warm and moist. From what I understood, it doesn't take long to make them. Most nationalities seem to have their thin bread/pancake item. I was raised with crepes, the Norwegians have lefse and the Spanish countries tortillas. I am sure you could use all the same toppings. We used butter, jelly, sugar, milk, or syrup on the crepes. The first time I had thick pancakes I was 15 and on my way to California. I had no idea what they were.

I forgot, I also had a chayote lesson. Gerardo brought one in and Ana explained what it is and how you use it. She also explained that everything grown in the compound and on Gerardo's other properties is organic and there are no pesticides used. Chayote is green and pear shaped. You can peel it and cut it in thin slices and then julienne it and put it in salads or soups. It is in the squash family. There are many popular recipes.
