I had so much fun.

I may have mentioned it before, and those who know me know that I love grocery stores. Byerly's is one of my favorite places and I can spend half a day slowly wandering through a good grocery store. In Portland I loved visiting the Asian Markets even though I didn't know what half the stuff was. That was one of the reasons I was so happy to be right close to the Super Mercado. Now, let's get a mental picture here. This isn't a super WalMart or Target. This is even much smaller than Cash Wise in Hutchinson. It has liquor, an ice cream stand, a meat dept a dept store kind of area and then groceries including fruits and vegetables. The frozen section and refrigerated section is pretty much dairy. No prepared meals or vegetables or anything like that.
Off I go with my cart and my container of cookies, which by the way are almost all gone. The cart helps me to limp along. I go in the back door and start handing out cookies to the guys unloading product.
I didn't really need that much - some cream for the French toast and more eggs since I will be out when I make the French toast and onions. So, it was a great time to check out everything on the shelves. I came home with a big bag of I am not really sure what. If it looked good I got it. Now I have to translate everything to see how close I am to what I thought I was getting. I do know I have cocoa and that they don't carry chocolate chips. I think I have a bag of stuff to make instant hot chocolate also. I needed crema and I have crema de leche. I don't know if they are the same.  I have been looking for powdered sugar which is azucar en polvo and what I got is azucar molido. Looks like it but so did the yeast. It says it is ground white sugar so how bad can it be. I now have walnuts and pecans and coconut and raisins and I have a package called - whoops I just read the English. It is chocolate flavored coating for frozen fruits. That should make some interesting treats.
Tuesday must not be a really great day for fruits and vegetables. That dept was pretty much cleared out. I could have gone up the street to the fruit and vegetable stand but my leg wasn't up to that. Next time. I wanted some fresh fruit for the French toast but I will do with raisins.
All in all a wonderful time. When I came out the back door to come home I even had someone help me with the cart. I love it here.

Sooooo glad your leg is a little better maybe tomorrow or Thursday you'll get another massage.
All this grocery shopping might really help you learn Spanish. There must be an app on your computer to help you figure this stuff out!!

We loved reading your last sentence especially - after all the weird things that have happened since May 30th. - loving where you are is a blessing.
Sounds like such kind and gracious people. R & L

When I know what I need I do my list in english and spanish. It is helping me to learn the spanish words. I won't be able to talk but I will know the name for anything in the kitchen. It's just when I go off track or when what is on a product is different from what my program has said I should look for. My next massage is Thursday. I will continue to have one a week.
