I was expecting to have the senior ladies here at 10:00 this morning so I opened the front door and waited. Instead a lady came from across the street and said I should come with her. I came back in and closed up and grabbed my purse and away we went. We headed down the street towards the bridge with the turnstill and past the little store and the house I had rented to start with. We continued down the street to the end and a very nice senior center. Father was just finishing Mass and there were people all over. After Mass they were served fruit and I spoke with a couple staff members who speak some English. Janet told them all about me and what I make and showed them a picture from my iPad. She explained that one half of the room would be on the 16th and the other half on the 23rd. I have an hour. If necessary they can finish the decorating with the feathers and the ribbons later.
We got the details all worked out. On October 16 a couple of the staff will come here at 9:00am so I can explain how to make the dream catcher and they will help during the class. Ziomara will be here also for the first class so that will really help.
I was invited to stay and mingle and participate in the rest of the activities. Exercise! I said I would come back another Friday before the 16th. They only meet on Friday. I am going to see if Emelio might be available on the 23rd to be my helper. I think he would really enjoy it.
I guess Gerardo is getting comfortable with me. This morning when I gave him the bread he went over to my dish rack and pulled out one of my bowls. You may remember I have had a terrible time finding bowls. So, whenever I see something that might work I buy it. I have 2 small and 2 bigger ones that look like they fit on an old fashioned potty chair. The handle is very handy to hold on to. This morning he reconfirmed that is what they are and offered to cut off the handle. I said I know and said no. He said I shouldn't take food anyplace in them. It was quite funny.
Now I will just wait for my bamboo delivery and see if I can get a big container to put water in for soaking it.
