I have been trying out my recipes. The lemonade was terrible, but he has told me his mother makes a wonderful drink that is papaya and lemons so I am trying that next. I tried the sweet potatoes last night. It is good but the purple skinned sweet potatoes here aren't as flavorful as the orange. I will see what I can get. I am also concerned about getting a squash like butternut so I have switched to carrot soup with curry and coconut milk. That way Otto will be able to eat it. I figure he will have the salad, the green beans and I will pull out some potato before I add the milk and butter and cheese. That should work.
Saturday morning I will leave here at 9:00am for the feria in Paraiso and then Monday it is back to Cartago. I have been buying what I can locally.
I saw Tia today for the first time since Sunday. She was so cute. We were by the mandarina tree and Ana was using the picker and would hand the fruit to Tia and Tia would hand it to me and grin. I let Ana know there will be 16 for Thanksgiving and she asked if red tablecloths would be OK. That works fine with my color scheme and the ribbon I bought to decorate the table.
We have been getting very heavy rains and some areas along the Pacific coast are flooding from heavy rains. They desperately need the rain but it doesn't do much good when it comes so hard and fast and just runs off.
The only Christmas decorations I brought with me are stockings so I put them up today. I want to make myself a bigger version of the tree also. Maybe I will find a spot to tuck some decorations in my suitcase on my way back down from Heather's. I don't know where I will put stuff from 6 more suitcases. Heather and Kent and I will each bring 2.
On my door facing out.
