I have had a wonderful, wonderful day so sit down, grab your coffee, it may take a while

I headed for Cartago about 10:30 this morning and it is now 3:30pm so I made quite a day of it. I found the cooking school, thanks to Emelio. Not even one wrong turn. Who wouldn't go check on chocolate first! They have lots of things like cake mixes and frosting and cream and pots and pans and utensils. Even they don't have a metal spatula. They have a narrow one that I would use for spreading frosting but nothing wide for flipping or turning things. My plastic one from the Super Mercado was so flimsy that I have already destroyed it and thrown it away. I will keep looking or keep flipping my eggs with my wooden one.
Here is an idea of what they have.

I am now the pleased owner of 2 packages of milk chocolate, one of dark, one of white, walnuts, pecans, slivered almonds and macadamia nuts. These are not chocolate chips but slabs kinda like Hershey bars. I will make them work.
Next stop is the fabric store for more ribbon and beads and feathers. I had shown one of the clerks a couple pictures of dream catchers another time and she asked me to show the girl who was helping me. I did and then I said something about cookies and the chocolate and nuts. I showed her pictures of some of the cookies and they let me know that next time I should bring cookies. I said you mean like these as I pulled a bag out of my red bag. I had included an assorted bag of cookies for Ziomara at the yarn shop and it was now missing 3 cookies.
On to the yarn shop which is looking really good with the rearrangement and added stock. They really do carry top quality items. I met her partner, Johana, and as we talked I said I was having difficulty finding feathers. She said - well I have chickens. And I said I would love to find someone who raises birds and she said - my father in law does. So, I am to go back next Wednesday to the fabric store because they were out of white feathers and to the yarn shop for chicken and bird feathers. I will go well supplied with cookies.
I had lunch at the little place on the corner across from the square and the ruins and this is where it starts getting fun.

Lunch was good but way too much rice. I was sitting at a table against the door/wall and all of a sudden the door opened and a couple ladies came through. When I was finished I decided to go check out the place next door. Lots of misc. stuff, no metal spatula, but the whole back area was buttons and ribbon and flowers - silk ones. I bought a few things of course, for the dream catchers and headed out. Just down the street a few doors looked like an interesting place. Well, it turned out to be a wonderland. Pots and pans and baking pans and pretty much everything under the sun.  Very large place. And I now have a hammer, nails and a staple gun and staples. I am a happy camper! Now I can put the fabric up in the kitchen to cover where there are no windows.
Needless to say my red bag weighed a ton on the way back, but I am very thankful for it. It is big enough I can get lots and my purse and my water bottle in it and zip it shut so nothing shows. Thank you Heather.
That pretty much covers my day. I still have to go grocery shopping soon. I am down to 1 egg, no ham, no yogurt, no vegetables, no potatoes, no salad makings and I am on my last roll of toilet paper. I really don't think I can put it off much longer. Tomorrow is definitely planting day! We decided today where the hydrangea and the Bougainville are going. It is just going to be so gorgeous!
