Some Observations

I am the only woman in Costa Rica who wears a hat in church.
Many women in San Isidro don't have husbands here because their husbands work in New Jersey. From what I have read, the jobs are mainly factory and golf courses and manual labor.
Umbrellas are used for sun as much as for rain.
So far I have not heard or seen anyone arguing or fighting in loud voices.
Even if they don't understand me, everyone has been willing to help and very patient with me.
Directions are a problem.
Few of the churches have donation boxes.
The people are very clean, both in their clothes and their person. In some countries the body odor chases you out. Not so here. I had an interesting situation in the bus station this morning.  When this man got just in front of me he pulled up his shirt and showed off his hairy stomach. Even he didn't give off an odor.
I have seen very few PDA in any of the public areas I have been. The only ones I have seen have been here.
I was cautioned In advance about theft and being careful. I have been careful and I don't wander around after dark and you know I don't hang out in bars. However, I have never felt unsafe.
The beds are usually a mattress on a platform and tend to be hard. I will definitely be bringing my memory foam mattress topper.
I have not seen any motor homes.
I like black beans more than I like rice. I have always been a noodles person.
I went into a hardware store yesterday. Almost kind of a big box kind of place. Very well stocked. I was looking at frypans as I am planning on bringing my own stainless steel. Most were stick free finish and ran in price from 14.000 to 44,000 colones. That's about $28.00 to $88.00. I definitely think it is worth bringing mine and the ones Heather has picked up for me. I will bring them little by little.
That's all I can think of now. I may add more later. I need to check up on Palmares as they have tons of buses going there. Maybe another bus ride adventure.
Most of the streets are one way which has probably saved me from being run over.
