Announcements

One of the things I have noticed in every town is cars or vans or trucks with large boxes on the roof driving around town. Music or announcements are being made - very loud. They always seem to drive around the park and the church. Right now, the cafe I am in is right across from the church and it is a very busy area and so noisy. I stopped into the church this morning and figured out that Adoration was going on. There must have been 40 people there with all the doors open and all the noise coming in. It was really quite lovely.

I have also been so surprised by how few bugs I have encountered. Granted I have not been out in the jungle, just in town for the most part. I have gotten a few bites but nothing a little nerosporin hasn't cleared up. The other thing is I am not sunburned. Now granted I have had lotion or sunscreen on and I wear my hat and sun glasses but in other areas that wouldn't have stopped the sun. Jamaica for instance. No matter what I did I got burned.

This spot - must be a gathering spot because it has wifi. It is the first place that I have heard lots of English besides La Caretta in Atenas. It seems strange. I have gotten used to the Spanish. I have been told I should start writing in Spanish so here goes.
