Day 2

I had a great night's sleep and started the day about 6:30am. It took me a while to work up to the shower but I want you to know I survived, although it was quick as I never found any hot water. I'm clean, that is all I can say. It's lucky my hair is very short so I can get by with just wetting it to get it to lay down. And, I'll be wearing a hat.
Breakfast was great. Juice, fruit plate, sausage, scrambled eggs with onion, peppers, tomato and no cheese, just the way I like it. I thought I would leave the rice and beans for lunch.
I brought along my microwave bowl pot holders and gave the first one away to the breakfast cook. I showed her what it was for and she chose the cat one. I will carry a few with me when I go out wandering today for anyone who does nice things for me.

I'm glad you slept well, mom! I can't wait to hear about your adventures. Kent looked at his phone this morning to check the weather here and he had left it on San Jose last night. He was very jealous that you woke up to 70 degrees when we woke up to 26.

I Had a lovely walk to the Cathedral and got there just as Mass was ending so I got blessed and walked around to the Adoration Chapel. There must have been 10 people in here. Right by the Cathedral is the Central Square and across the street is the bank - 3 of them in fact. If you want the ATM's. They are in the entry and available 24 hours. If you want a teller you have to be let in by security. I needed inside as I was changing dollars to colones. Standard is 500 colones to a dollar. I exchanged $50.00 and got 26,300 so it was 526 instead of 500. Every little bit helps.
I found my way back to the park, bought something cold to drink and sat and people watched. Instead of meters on the parking spots around the park, they have a parking attendant who collects your money and gives you a permit" the students must have been on lunch break and there were lots around.
A couple blocks from the B & B is Soda Palmares so I think I will try that the next time I am hungry.

Adults hesitate to correct pronunciation but kids will. I just had a long talk with a Canadian boy who has lived here most of 7 years. I now know you pronounce it like purda vida and San Isidro is like Eesidro. This is so fun. Off to the soda to see if I have to eat there or if I can get it to go. I may have to find more ice cream.

That should have been poorda vida.

The Soda meal was great. Chicken, rice, beans, vegetable salad and alvacado. I had a piece of plain vanilla cake. It all cost me 4000 colones. I put some mild sauce on the meal. Way more than I could eat. Didn't have any ice cream today so I may have to do 2 tomorrow.

Everyone seems to hear things differently or explains them differently . I was visiting with a Columbian and a Canadian and they both explained it that way. It is all Pura Vida, no matter how it is pronounced. Thanks for your comment.

I apologize. Whoever posted the Spanish link, I accidentally deleted your second post when I was deleting mine so I could rephrase mine. It was not intentional.
