Speaking of La Quinta, I got an enquiry this morning that may turn out to be really exciting but I won't say anymore until I know for sure.
The crochet ladies afternoon was a fun time. Janet wasn't here but the other 3 were. I ended up with 5 more hats and a scarf. They all want to do scarves this week which is fine. I made a Pom Pom for the top of one of the hats and Ligia converted it but her style didn't work as well as my version. I showed her the pattern and she converted hers. I love that we can all learn from each other.
The other thing I love is they are comfortable enough with me now that they and the craft ladies are all willing to correct my Spanish and help me. They also want me to help them with English. It makes us more comfortable with each other. They were pleased to think we may consign things at the Swiss shop.
Coffee was a big success. I made cinnamon raisin muffins and Grandma's coconut bars. Not my grandma but someone's. I did make one change. I put some chocolate chips in my chopper and sprinkled the pieces on top. They insisted I teach them how to make them. I said next time we would have a cooking lesson. I also had rolls and a plate of guayaba jelly, cheese, sliced tomatoes and avocado with seasoning sprinkled on everything. This way they could put what they wanted on the rolls. When they left I gave them each another bar.
While I was at Gerardo's store getting the hooks for the rod I picked up some color swatches for the bathroom and guest bedroom. The kitchen will be a big job so that may wait a while. I am leaning towards a light green for the kitchen and bathroom and sunshine yellow for the wall in the guest bedroom. Some of the outside here is painted a bright yellow. I may ask Gerardo if he has more as I only have one wall to do.
Katherine and the girls are coming tomorrow morning. I have lots so I won't need to bake again. We have books to read now and some new toys. They haven't been here in a while as Katherine has been busy with the map. Hopefully it will be a nice morning. We can talk more about the tours.
The crochet ladies raved and raved about the throw for Heather. They all loved how soft it is. I have only 4 strips to add and then the border. If I get busy I should be able to take it Thursday afternoon to show the craft ladies.
I finished a hat except for a couple of crocheted flowers I want to do for the side.
Still a mess but coming along.
Are they talented or what!
