First we stopped at the restaurant/bar by the river operated by a couple from Georgia. They were having a party for about 50 local kids. I met Audrey and said I would love to be involved next year. We continued up the road to coffee fields and the place where the workers stay. Harvest is from November thru January. The kids are on school break so they don't go to school here and since they don't speak Spanish they don't really mix with the locals. Jose works hard every year to gather things for them. We got out and Jose asked Debbie and I to hand out the containers and he gave them the bread. I am not even sure they knew what we were giving them but I hope they enjoy them.
We gave one to each person and Jose kept the rest for another group that wouldn't be home for an hour. It felt good.
Now I have to clean out the perishables and finish packing and get ready to leave at 8:00am tomorrow. My flight doesn't leave until 1:30 tomorrow but traffic is so terrible this time of year we are allowing plenty of time. It will be 11:30pm by the time I get to Madison.
The packed suitcase.
Debbie handing out goodies.
My turn.
One for the man sitting across the road.
Jose helping.
